The Story Behind the Image
Meet Boo, residing at Kicking Horse Mountain Grizzly Refuge. He was born in the wild but tragically lost his mother in 2002, at 5 months do to a poacher.
Brought to the grounds as a cub, the refuge was built specifically for him, so scientists could study his behavior, skill development, and activity throughout the years. The hope is that this knowledge and research can give other orphaned grizzly bears a second chance at life as well.

As I explored a trail in the Dixie National Forest I spotted this young mule deer as the snow began to fall. He spotted me as well and had a good stare and then went about his day. The falling snow and quiet surroundings made for a tranquil moment on my adventure.

I have been fortunate enough to travel to New York and explore the city numerous times. I never thought to walk over any other bridge beside the Brooklyn Bridge, I guess I never realized I could. Perhaps, a well-known secret or something unfamiliar to most. But, my walk over the Manhattan bridge was a quiet peaceful walk filled with beautiful city and rooftop views.

Dogtown Nostalgia. I had the opportunity to live in California for a few months and visit the Santa Monica/ Venice Beach area. This area is widely known as the birthplace of modern-day skateboarding. I spent many hours watching and photographing all generations of skateboarders sharing this passion. The Skate park in Venice Beach was built in 2009.

This fall I took a solo trip to Colorado to get back to mother nature. It was quite an adventure with beauty all around. This picture was taken on a hike through Mayflower Gulch.

As I walked through the streets of Lisbon last spring, I learned that the tram system is a way of life for the locals. But, it has also become an iconic attraction for tourists to take in the spirit, colors, and art of the city.
